“Forever”

Nothing seems to last,
I’ve given my all to you and now my all is in the past,
I can still smile, but I barely laugh…. I mean really laugh,
It’s all behind me now you can do the math,
Heart just crashed,
Rivalries have clashed,
Just waves in the ocean as the pieces of me are spread like ash,
No splash,
I require soaking wet love – keep the change paid in crisp bills – cash,
Felt loves wrath,
I took that path,
Now without love the payments are high and the quality is trash,
I need you now quick and fast,
Nothing seems to last,
I’ve given my all and now my all is in the past,
Didn’t take my shot instead I passed,
The memories are memorized, aligned, and intricately stashed,
Soul feels harassed,
Forever moves so fast, 
Took forever for granted now look at all the pain I’ve amassed, 
Kept fertilizing others grass, 
Richer greens, deeper roots, better contrast, 
Everyday it rains – overcast,
My internal forecast, 
Emotions running so deep and nearly unsurpassed,
 At this pace, in this place, same race with no finish line in sight how long will it last?
So many questions I have asked, 
Searching and running to find the answers so long I am truly gassed,
I can feel the pressure – prepare yourselves for the blast, 
Hold-fast, 
It won’t be televised, covered, nor broadcast,
Hopes dashed, 
Heart slashed, 
Everything I’ve ever written is real not a rough draft, 
Soul placed in every word, in every line – soul smashed,
Still an advocate of your love despite the constant crash,
Love enthusiast,
Forever.
