“Sins Of A Father”

I pray,
You never have to pay,
Father by thy hands and knees I lay,
All of your fears my dear son, your worries on my back are placed, and I am given them the strength to carry them away,
Any negativity placed in your pathway,
I ask that they are cast away,
On your journey of life may all your adventures never lead you astray,
May your experiences teach you lessons of forgiveness each day,
May your dreams prosper, and goals follow without delay,
I pray,
Your work ethic out do mine on my greatest day,
So in the end you recall all words of  wisdom I would share, show, and say,
You’ve been given the tools and armed with knowledge and strength to slay,
Fear not what others tell you for in comparison to dirt is what their words weigh, 
Most spit negativity, but in the wind it will blow back into their own face full spray, 
All these things may seem a bit cliche, 
There will come a time when you will need to use all you’ve been taught for life will give you temptations that are convincing to make you sway, 
Keep to your discipline, self respect, and God’s will you must obey, 
Protect your sisters with love and always ensure love is first – messages to consistently relay, 
Be humble and thankful for every single moment of every single day, 
Many didn’t make it this far, many weren’t chosen to stay, 
You’ve been my little man, my best man, my greatest protege, 
You are my hero, I’ve admired you in every way, 
So when I am old and gray, 
Or gone and my body to rest and lay, 
To the earth I return upon my decay, 
Always know for you I pray, 
You never have to pay,
