“I TRY TO FORGET YOU”

Hit my head…..I hit my head against the wall,
I do it to erase the memories because shaking my head doesn’t work at all,
It doesn’t erase them, the memories, for all of them I still can recall,
My greatest height to the stars followed by my greatest fall,
I am stumbling through life as if I’m attempting to balance on a single ball,
My character has been assassinated and my love simply echoes through empty halls,
While some people’s heart skips a beat mine simply stalls,
Every breath is difficult to take, every step is difficult to make so at times I am found on the ground for I cannot walk……. I’m limited and can only crawl,
My eyes are consistently swollen for so many tears out I’ve balled,
No one ever listen when I screamed out and called,
When you left without a trace, without sharing a thought, a feeling you cut me down to a minuscule – extraordinarily small,
You broke the protocol,
When you were with me ironically I was always 10 feet tall,
Now to you I don’t exist at all,
Depression set in and introduced me to alcohol,
I feel like every day is ground-hog day with the same results – a constant battle a constant brawl,
In every memory of you there is a hall,
In every hall there is an immaculate picture of you on every inch of every wall,
From time to time I meticulously renovate, and coordinate,  but you are so perfect and I’m careful to not overhaul,
My heart, mind, and body don’t have the strength to forget you, I don’t have the wherewithal,
There is no purpose when I eat now so I have high cholesterol,
All that was good existed when you were installed, now you’re disconnected from me and uninstalled,
With this I’m not enthralled,
What I wouldn’t give to have you in my arms or in our bed fully sprawled,
To all of this consistent hurt I am appalled,
Love I still struggle with losing you, and I try to forget YOU as you have forgotten me aerosol spray used to disinfect…..Lysol.
