I told you I don’t need perfection, but that wasn’t good enough for you,
I showed, I wrote, I devoted my attention and time, yet it still left you without a clue,
Ever seen a rainbow frozen in hue?
Ever been lost in mid thought even though you were on cue?
Ever had your heart broken or been held in a forever purgatory queue? What is a vision with no view?
If not me then who?
Are we really meant to be if we have no destination to go to?
They say if you walk away it shows growth, yet the constant pain and scars tell me that I’ve never grew,
I only trust a chosen few,
Straight up it’s only two,
Should be more, but people bit off more than they could chew,
My life feels like gumbo stew,
Bunch of ingredients thrown together in a pot, boiled, simmered, and brewed,
Still good food – still not new,
Still finding a way to turn these grey skies back blue,
Still confused,

If only you knew,
Still wake up feeling battered and bruised,
Even in my kindest tones I am still misconstrued,
Seems as if I never balance out or delete for these feelings and emotions intensify and continue,
Constantly hurting and that’s all they do,
Applying pressure on my soul that non stop accrues,
Transparent as ever – I am see through,
I wear my heart on my sleeve there is no need for a preview,
If you could only walk a mile in my shoes,
You’d walk around with the same mindset and same attitude,
Kind, but looks rude, Take a look underneath and you’ll find passionate, loving, and protective like kung fu,
Unconditional, with hopes that she and I….Each other – we always pursue,
Love so real and always made anew,
Any problems that arise we discuss and resolve those issues,
Plenty of room for mistakes, but we address all miscues,
Through it all I’ve paid my dues,
Just staring at the world through my rearview,
Still the impressions left are deeply embedded into my skin like tattoos,
Searching for what I’ve lost, because what I lost costs and for years I’ve been losing revenue,
Greatest joy is when what you’ve lost is returned back in greater amounts than you ever imagined in greater volume with greater value,
See I don’t need love to be perfect………………
I JUST NEED LOVE TO BE TRUE.
