Hey buddy where in the world have you been?

I have been looking for, hoping for,  searching for a friend,

Someone I can lean on, someone whom I can depend,

Tell me have you seen such a person?

In my life I have encountered many of people who I thought were my personal best friend,

Only to find out that when life hit is when I got a call from them,

Or still get a call only when,

Shit hits the fan or shit has happened,

It’s just me alone always all over again,

The realization of being all alone… I am all alone in the end,

My girl she’s my friend always been here with me through thick and thin,

I made mistakes she never stopped loving me, she took time to comprehend, 

I broke her heart, she broke my heart, yet we still kept the fire burnin’,

My sister she’s my friend no matter what the problem,  what the heck, no matter the circumstance,

My father and my mother definitely my friends till the end,

Anything that I have or need I will always give or share with them,

My brother I love that dude and no matter  what I will always love him,

Definitely a dedication of importance,

My kids….. man are they ever my greatest friends!

They love me through my rights and wrongs, no matter how much I lose with them I will forever win,

I carry a lot of my own problems with no one to genuinely listen,

I give and have gave and still don’t look for in return what I have given,

Understand me please know by what I am driven,

So many frustrations setting in fighting feelings that must at times remain hidden,

For all of my sins I just wish to be forgiven,

Praying that they don’t ever hurt or affect the ones I love the most – dead or still living,

This is not living,

Many of you have written,

How some of you can,

Always call on, lean on, on some other person a hand you would always give or lend,

Over backwards you would bend,

Whether asked or not asked it is never a question,

There with you till the end,

That’s what I call a true friend,

Cant go without a day talking to, emailing,  or texting – some form of communication,

If they were right or wrong you are still there to help and will always be there to defend,

Always keeping it real though and letting them know if in all actuality they were wrong to begin,

A friend,

When you look to your right or your left you always see this person,

There with you when you’re broke and with you when you have any money to spend,

Always down for a celebration,

No excuses they’re always there willing to be apart, take part, they willingly give their all and over extend,

Last to leave and the very first to raise their hand,

No matter what they’re always there to attend and have always been,

Some of you are so fortunate to have several friends,

That reliable source,  your ace, your brother,  your girl, your sole confidants,

If you were to die your spirit and values wouldn’t die too they would continue to transcend,

All your morals and hopes and dreams would live on and be instilled still in your children,

There is no amount of time or energy that you could ever expend,

You don’t see one without the other and if you do the other is not too far behind her or him,

Any disagreements are always welcomed, but we always make amends,

Real people do real things and holding back the truth from one another about your true feelings and thoughts is something we don’t do or recommend,

Till I die or till you die we in it till the end,

If I didn’t mention your name then you may need to reconsider if you fit in,

Cause in my life I have always wanted to have what to many I have been,

All I ever wanted and needed was my very own true friend.
